SOcial Skills Group Therapy
Each student participates in weekly Social Skills Group Therapy. Groups are facilitated by licensed clinicians and are designed to provide students the opportunity to practice social skills and learn from each other. Sessions focus on a range of topics including learning to work together, problem solving and emotional regulation. Students learn and practice effective communication skills which are essential for developing and maintaining positive relationships. Students learn about reading non-verbal communication and body language cues, how to keep and make friends, flexibility, empathy towards others, impulse control, personal space and boundaries, understanding social situations, and appropriate use of humor.
